How big are industrial skips?
Roll-on roll-off (RORO) skips usually range from 20 cubic yards up to 40 cubic yards. They're designed for bulk waste and are often loaded by machine, which makes them ideal for materials that can't be moved by hand.

What is the difference between an industrial skip and a commercial skip?
Industrial skips are usually larger and designed for large-scale industrial work. They handle high volumes of heavy waste from factories, large building sites and manufacturing plants.
Commercial skips are more suited to office and retail units having a refurb or clear-out. That's why they're smaller and easier to move.
What can't you put in an industrial skip?
Even with industrial skip hire, there are legal and safety rules on certain types of waste.
Asbestos, gas cylinders, liquid paints and solvents, oils, batteries, clinical waste and most electrical items (WEEE) can't go in our skips. Plasterboard has to be kept separate.
Can you swap a full skip for an empty one?
Yes, that's an exchange. We take the full one and leave an empty one in the same trip. Ring the office when you're getting close and we'll book it in.
How much weight can I put in?
Up to 8 tonnes in a builders' skip, 4 tonnes in a midi. Soil, concrete and hardcore get heavy fast, so ring us if it's mostly heavy stuff and we'll work out what's best.
Can a skip go on the road outside the site?
Yes, with a council permit, which we apply for. It has to sit fully on the road and be lit at night, and we put the lights and cones on.
