With the new net-zero-by-2050 goals in the UK, now is more important than ever to improve waste management systems and implement eco-friendly ways to reduce waste, relax the strain on landfills, and encourage the reuse and recycling of materials. 

That’s what we’re striving for at Skips Liverpool. We started our business as a small, local project with a clear aim: to make local skip hire quick, reliable, and affordable for homes, trades, and building sites across Liverpool and the wider Merseyside area. So that’s what we did.

What we do

Our skip business in Liverpool has been up and running for over 10 years now, with many happy customers and lots of skip options to show for it. With a friendly and efficient team, we can provide a skip for every project, big or small, from 2 yard to 8 yard skips. 

We supply the most popular sizes: mini (2-yard), midi (4-yard) and builders (8-yard), and offer both same-day and next-day delivery options, perfect for last-minute jobs. Our drivers run daily routes across the city and into the wider Merseyside area, including parts of Knowsley, St Helens, Wirral, and Southport.

Licences, safety and duty of care

Every load we collect is handled in accordance with the duty of care outlined in Section 34 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. What this essentially means is that our waste is transferred only to authorised sites, with the right paperwork, and kept secure in transit. 

You can rest assured that we recycle all our materials properly, taking our skips to licensed facilities where materials can be sorted for reuse. Some items cannot be placed in a general mixed-waste skip for legal and safety reasons. Typical exclusions include asbestos, gas cylinders, liquid paints/solvents, oils, batteries, clinical waste, and most electrical items (WEEE).

We operate as an Environment Agency–registered waste carrier and are registered as a skip operator with Liverpool City Council, meaning we can place skips on the public highway in Liverpool and apply for road permits on a customer’s behalf. 
When delivering and positioning our skips, we follow the National Safety at Street Works and Road Works Code of Practice for signing, lighting, and guarding. This means we follow practices to keep pedestrians and road users safe when a skip is sited on a road or verge.
